Congratulations to the Inaugural Fix Your Content Day Winners

In celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2020, we launched the inaugural Fix Your Content Day Challenge as part of our continued efforts to support institutions as they improve equity and access for all their students. Fifty-nine colleges and universities spanning 5 continents, 6 countries, and 18 U.S. states participated, improving the accessibility of as many course files as possible through Blackboard Ally. In the spirit of inclusion, we also invited those who don’t have Blackboard Ally to participate by submitting innovative “Accessibility Impact Plans,” demonstrating how they’re actively taking steps to make their campuses more inclusive.

Collectively, the Ally Community aimed to break the previous single-day record of 6,312 files improved. Throughout the challenge, participants tracked results in real-time on the global leaderboard, fueling a fierce competition, with institutions fixing files well into the morning of May 22nd. As the graph and totals from the challenge illustrate, institutions made a significant impact on the accessibility of their course files and toppled the single-day record.

While all challenge participants show incredible commitment to creating a culture of accessibility on their respective campuses on a daily basis, during the challenge, the following institutions made the highest number of file fixes, either in total or in relation to their number of students. So, without further ado, we’re thrilled to announce the inaugural Fix Your Content Day winners and achievement clubs:
